Working with feelings of stress, frustration, anger, anxiety, depression,
and other unsatisfactory emotions.
Many of my clients experience a general dissatisfaction with life rooted in their day-to-day living, rather than in a specific crisis. I have discovered that proactively working with these feelings in therapy helps my clients deal with them before they have the opportunity to manifest themselves in a specific problem. Some of my clients prefer to involve their spirituality into their counseling and some do not. Even though at times it is difficult, I have the ability to approach issues and problems with or without a spiritual connection, I think this is ALL UP TO THE CLIENT.
Working with cross-cultural environments and relationships.
Being an empathic American who has lived in the United States and mostly in Florida, I have a particular sensitivity to the conflicts that can arise from cultural issues here in America. This has helped me work successfully with clients struggling with cultural identity, intercultural marriages, generational conflict, and race-based workplace issues.
Working with high-achieving and creative individuals.
I have worked successfully with students, professors, and leaders in the corporate world, as well as with writers, artists, and other creative individuals who struggle with perfectionism, self-doubt, and performance anxiety.
Working with men.
While I work closely with both men and women, I also specialize in helping men who struggle with a variety of issues, including relating to other men, especially a father or son; understanding and honoring both the “masculine” and the emotional sides of a man; struggling with sexual addictions and substance abuse; and trying to juggle the demands and expectations many men feel are placed upon their lives.
Working with pastors and their families.
My theological degree and personal background in church ministry deeply informs my work with clergy and their family members. I understand first-hand the unique challenges that face pastors and their family members, and the demanding roles they are expected to fulfill.
Working with people in relationship crisis.
Many of my clients seek therapy to help resolve a volatile situation or crisis in a key relationship, whether with a spouse or partner, family member, friend, or colleague at work. They find that working with the problem in a structured, therapeutic environment can open up new possibilities for resolution.
I lead many groups of individuals and Foster Parents teaching them the majority of Psychopathologies regarding children and the therapies that are utilized to aid them in being more successful within the community. Extensive coverage of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression and its relationship to some children who have experienced traumatic events. This brief 10-hour course was an overview of DSMIV T.R. and DSMIV diagnostics.

Anger Management and Assertiveness Training
Conducted intensive anger management and assertiveness training as an ongoing group approach to help those with anger issues become successful within the community. The majority of the training sessions were conducted pro bono to hundreds of individuals ranging in age from 14 to 60 years of age.
Instructed couples and individuals in skills described in One Two Three Magic and Latham’s Positive Parenting Skills. This 30-hour course supplied the students with the necessary skills to properly parent children of all ages in an appropriate manner without the use of corporal punishment.
Trained and educated potential foster parents and therapists in the proper use of Medication Administration Records MARS, what reactions clients may display, types of medications including anti-psychotic, mood stabilizers, etc. and the requirements regarding safety in handling and disposal of controlled drugs.
Educated adults, children, and adolescents in common symptoms and behaviors displayed by those that use or abuse a variety of common drugs while following the 12-Step Program.
